Online Meeting: Wednesday, June 3rd, 2020

Our next online Sackville Photography Club meeting is this Wednesday, June 3rd, 2020. It’s hard to believe we’ve almost come to the end of  this Club year, just one more meeting after this one. Club members will be receiving an email in the next few days with an invitation link to the meeting site and instructions on entering the meeting. Our previous online meetings have been a great success, and this one should be no exception. We hope (and encourage you!) to join in for this meeting, the lineup has something for everyone!

Joining us in the first half is Michelle England (https://michelleengland.com/) local portrait/lifestyle photographer from the Annapolis Valley documenting authentic life moments whether it be with her clients or her own family. Michelle’s presentation “Finding Me” is her personal journey in discovering her voice as the documentarian of her own life. “13 years ago I got my first “big girl camera” and began documenting my own little world. It didn’t take me long to realize that freezing moments, that leave all too soon, was so important. We have so many first and last times. I don’t want to miss any of them. I want my legacy to be the gift of a life in photos for my family. My heart beats for documentary. Capturing things as they are. I am not interested in perfection or being like anyone else. I used to think I had to name the style of my work, make everything look the same, and shove myself into a tiny box. I’ve spent the last couple of years on a journey to unlearn all of that and have fallen more in love with photography than I ever thought possible.”

Joining us in the second half is Peter Gadd (https://flic.kr/s/aHsmMvT3yC & https://flic.kr/s/aHskxvoJm6) from Miramichi, NB an active nature photographer documenting wildlife. His presentation “Nature Photography – Birds and Butterflies and Citizen Science” will show us how he uses photography in data collection for Citizen Science projects that monitor wildlife populations, in this case birds and butterflies with some “asides” that will provide insight to life in the wild!

We look forward to you joining us online Wednesday, June 3rd at 7pm from the comfort of your home – pull up a chair, pour yourself a beverage and enjoy the meeting!
