Meeting: Wednesday, March 20th, 2019

Our next Sackville Photo Club meeting is this Wednesday March 20th, 2019.  Doors open at 6:30pm and the meeting starts at 7pm.

This week our Guest Speaker is Simon d’Entremont of Simon d’Entremont Photography and is probably best known for his bird photography.  Simon will take us through a series of  his images, providing us with tips and techniques based on those images.

The Common Object Showcase for “Hat” and Ice” will be shown.  Mike Donahue will present the “Edit My Image” results – a great exercise in how each of us sees the same image differently! There will be updates on Field Trips from Darren Lightfoot and Mentoring from Kevin Hall. As always we will have our 50/50 at break.

A reminder that the March Monthly Theme is “Composite” images and the Common Object Theme is “Coffee”. Send up to 5 images in each category (subject line should read “Composites” or “Coffee” accordingly) to showcase@sackvillephotoclub.com  by midnight Saturday, March 30th.

Dave Brosha’s “Moments of Magic: Art In The Landscape” workshop is coming up on April 27th-28th, although all of the 2-day passes have been sold, there are still plenty of tickets to attend the 4-6 hour Classroom portion on  Saturday, April 27th – a great opportunity to hear Dave speak about all aspects of Landscape photography through a series of talks / slideshows / inspiration / technique. Tickets are available for the Classroom portion only ($37.50) through Eventbrite https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/moments-of-magic-art-in-the-landscape-tickets-46614362814 Password: SackvillePC .

We encourage your participation in meetings – consider submitting a Member Showcase or giving a “How I Got the Shot” presentation or even a 10 – 15 minute Tech Talk. Please contact Kim Ottenbrite at president@sackvillephotoclub.com if you want to be on the agenda of an upcoming meeting.

See you on Wednesday!
